Two men carrying Rs 1 crore in pvt bus detained, unaccounted cash seized

KARWAR: Two people, who were travelling on a private bus, were taken into custody after they were found to be carrying Rs 1 crore in cash without any proper documentation. The cash was found in two bags when the bus was being checked at a checkpost near Majali on the Karwar-Goa border in Uttara Kannada district.

The bus was on its way from Goa to Hosur near Bengaluru when it was intercepted at the checkpost. During the search, the police found the cash in two bags, but the passengers failed to provide any documents about the source of the money.

The two individuals from Bengaluru, who were travelling in the bus, were taken into custody for questioning. A case has been registered at the Chittakula police station and further investigation is unde rway to determine the source and purpose of the unaccounted cash.
