Two leopard cubs stuck under rock rescued, Forest Dept takes custody

MANDYA: Two youths rescued two leopard cubs which were stuck under a rock on a farmland at Kolagere village in Maddur taluk on Wednesday.

The youths, Shivamurthy and Keerthikumar, brought the cubs to the village following which the villagers made a beeline to see the young ones.

On receiving information about the cubs being rescued, the Forest Department staff rushed to the village and took custody of the cubs. They have now placed a cage near where the cubs were found to trap the mother. The leopardess is believed to have killed several heads of cattle in the nearby areas.
