CHIKKAMAGALUR: Two KSRTC buses belonging to the Chikkamagalur division were seized by some lawyers Channarayapatna town of in Hassan district over non-payment of compensation in an accident case.
The buses, which were headed to Sringeri and Sakleshpur, were stopped mid-route and seized following a court order. A court had directed KSRTC to pay Rs 12.41 lakh compensation to Nagarathnamma, a victim of an accident, but the amount remained unpaid.
The lawyers took the buses into custody, sparking anger among passengers who were left stranded. The seized vehicles were taken to the Channarayapatna court premises. The incident sparked outrage among the public, with passengers expressing their frustration over the inconvenience caused.
