BENGALURU: Two people died on the spot and four others suffered serious injuries after a container truck which carrying a cable drilling machine, fell into a ditch near Uraganadoddi in Anekal taluk on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Sunday.
The victims, Sriman (25) from Jharkhand and Srinivas (26) from Andhra Pradesh, were trapped under the container truck and died on the spot.
The accident occurred around 11 am when the container truck, which Srinivas was driving, and Sriman, the cable drilling machine operator, were in the vehicle. The truck, carrying a cable drilling machine, was speeding on an incline while navigating a sharp turn on the road, and the driver lost control resulting in the truck falling into the ditch.
The injured are receiving treatment at Vijayashree Hospital in Jigani, with one person’s condition being critical. Senior police officials, including Deputy SP Mohan Kumar and ASP Venkatesh Prasanna, visited the spot.
