Two killed in separate accidents in Raichur district

The bus ran over a pedestrian, killing him on the spot.

RAICHUR: Two people were killed in separate accidents in the district on Monday. While one of the victims was a pedestrian, the other was a two-wheeler rider.

Veeresh (34) of Madhavaram in Andhra Pradesh was killed after he was run over by a bus. Veeresh was walking from Gillesugoor to Madhavaram as he did not get a bus when the accident occurred.

The bus was on its way from Raichur to Mantralaya. The driver abandoned the bus and fled from the scene. The Idapanur police have registered a case and are investigating.

In another incident, a motorcycle rider was kiled after he collided head-on with a lorry near Yeragera village on Mantralaya road near Raichur University. The deceased was identified a Reddy (37) of Madanapalle in Andhra Pradesh.

Reddy was on his way from Raichur to Madhavaram when the accident occurred. The lorry was coming from Andhra Pradesh to Raichur. The body was shifted to RIMS for autopsy. The Yaragera police have registered a case and are investigating.
