MANGALURU: Two people were killed on the spot after a truck rammed into a scooter at Nantur signal in Mangaluru City on Saturday. The deceased have been identified as Samuel Jesudas (67) and 30-year-old woman.
The accident reportedly happened when they were waiting at the Nantur signal. The truck driver moved when the signal switched to green, knocking down the two-wheeler from behind. Angry locals assaulted the truck driver and took him to task after the incident.
The Kadri traffic police have detained the truck driver and registered a case.
