BENGALURU: Two jail inmates were injured in a fight at Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru. The injured inmates were identified as Anand and Husain.
The incident took place on Wednesday during lunch. A verbal altercation started between Suryaprakash (24) and Anand over a trivial reason, which soon escalated into a physical confrontation.
Suryaprakash allegedly used a tile from the bathroom to attack Anand and also injured Hussain, who tried to intervene. Anand sustained serious injuries while Hussain was treated at the jail hospital. Anand was referred to Victoria Hospital for further treatment.
A case has been registered at Parappana Agrahara police station based on a complaint from jail deputy superintendent Imam Sab Mageri. The police are likely to take Suryaprakash into custody for investigation.
