HASSAN: Two groups of college students engaged in fisticuffs over a trivial issue at the city bus station here on Tuesday evening. Some of them sustained injuries while some other were left with torn clothes.
The two groups clashed apparently over the issue of a girl. What started off as a verbal duel led to exchanging of blows. Some passengers who were waiting to catch buses cleared the scene as soon as the fight broke out.
Even as the two groups were fighting, the KSRTC drivers and other staff remained mute spectators. The old bus stand has become a den for anti-social elements with college students indulging in drug abuse and eve-teasing. Locals say the issue has been brought to the notice of the police authorities, but nothing has been done.
