CHITRADURGA: Two groups clashed during the Garibi Sabi dargah Urus at Dodderi village on Thursday night, leaving many injured. While the exact provocation for the clash was unclear, the injured have been admitted to different hospitals.
Two police personnel, who had gone there to inquire about the clash, were also attacked and have been admitted to the district hospital in Chitradurga. Two youths, Azgar and Mustafa also sustained injuries.
According to the family members, Azgar had gone to witness the Urus when one Junaid, who was intoxicated, attacked him and with a blade. While Azgar had been admitted to the Chitradurga district hospital, Mustafa has been admitted to the taluk hospital in Challakere.
Deputy SP Rajanna visited the spot and took stock of the situation. A case has been registered at the Challakere police station and further investigation is under way.
