MANGALURU: Two girls drowned in the Netravathi river and died right in front of their parents’ eyes, at Navoor in Bantwal taluk on Sunday. The deceased are Ashra (11), daughter of Ansar, a resident of Ullal, and Nashiya (14), daughter of Ilyas.
The four had gone to the riverside to spend some time in the water, but the two girls drowned. With neither of their father knowing how to swim, both girls died. The Bantwal Rural police have registered a case.
