CHAMARAJANAGAR: Two families residing in Lingarajapura village in the taluk have been socially boycotted for different reasons. Both families belong to the Uppara Shetty community.
The boycott call was given by elders of the community. The family of Govinda Shetty has been boycotted after they built a house, while the family of Siddaraju has been boycotted after one of the family members married outside the caste.
Apparently, though the issue came to the notice of the police superintendent and the deputy commissioner, not much was done about it. The boycotted families claimed that SP Kavitha had sent some police personnel for the sake of it and nothing was done to sort out the issue.
