KALABURAGI: A scuffle broke out at Buland Parvez Colony here over the chief’s post at the Jamia Masjid, with a group of people, allegedly led by the current president’s brother, attacking a family who demanded his removal. The attackers, numbering around 50, pelted stones at the family’s house, shattering windows and injuring several women.
The dispute began when a group, led by Mohammad Ali, demanded the removal of the current chief Sher Khan, citing his alleged misuse of funds and failure to hand over the management of a school run by the mosque to Mohammad Ali’s son, Sufiyan, despite the latter having spent Rs 10 lakh on the school. Sher Khan’s brothers, including Nayim Khan and Amjad Khan, are accused of leading the attack.
The incident occurred when Sher Khan’s supporters, including his brothers, gathered a group of around 50 people and attacked Mohammad Ali’s house, pelting stones and causing damage. The family has sought police protection, fearing, fearing for their safety. The police have registered a case against Sher Khan and others involved in the attack.
The incident has left the community shaken, with many calling for action against those responsible. The police have provided security at the house, but tensions remain high.
