Two die in separate bull taming competitions in Shivamogga district

SHIVAMOGGA: Two people died in separate bull taming competitions in the district on Saturday. The deceased have been identified as Prashanth (36), a resident of Gaama village in Shikaripura taluk, and Adi (20), a resident of Chagaturu village in Soraba taluk.

Prashanth suffered serious injuries after a bull knocked him down and stepped on his chest during the race on October 27. He was immediately rushed to McGann District Hospital. He succumbed to injuries on Saturday. A video clip showing the bull hitting the man went viral in the district.

Prashanth and Adi died after a bullock hit them in bull taming competitions.

In another incident at Jade village in Soraba taluk, Adi, a spectator, died after he was gored to death by a bull during the bull taming competition.

Cases have been registered at Soraba and Shikaripura Rural police stations.
