Two die in separate bull-taming competitions in Shivamogga district

SHIVAMOGGA: Two people died in separate bull-taming competitions in the district on Monday. The deceased have been identified as Lokesh (32), a resident of Alkola, and Ranganath.

Lokesh, an autorickshaw driver, was among the spectators watching the bull-taming competition in Honaganahalli in Shivamogga on Sunday when a bull knocked him down during the race, leaving him badly injured. He was immediately rushed to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

Lokesh and Ranganath died in separate bull-taming competition in Shivamogga district.

Ranganath was a street food vendor who had gone as a spectator to watch the bull taming competition in Maluru when a bull knocked him down during the race and he died while two others were injured.

People are expressing outrage against the bull-taming competition in Shivamogga, but despite some people’s opposition, they are conducting the competition. People also staged protest for relief for deceased’s family members.
