BAGALKOT: Two people died on the spot while two others were injured after two cars collided head-on near Rakkasagi village in Hungund taluk on the Raichur-Belagavi highway on Thursday. While one of the cars had Karnataka registration (KA 22 Z 2414), the other had Maharashtra registration (MH 42 BJ 8877).
The deceased were identified as Gangamma Veeresh Gowda (50) and Sandesh Angadi (20), hailing from Nelavagi village in Badami taluk. The injured are Veeresh Angadi (55) and Satish Angadi (28).
The injured were shifted to a hospital in Bagalkot. Both cars were badly crushed due to the impact of the crash. The Amingarh police visited the spot and have registered a case.
