KARWAR: Two people died and three others were seriously injured after the driver of the car they were travelling in lost control and hit a tree near Pala Cross near the Sirsi-Hubballi state highway in Mundagod taluk on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Ganesh Ganigera and Mahesh Ganigera, residents of Basavanabeedi in Mundagod town. They were traveling to Pala village to attend the Marikamba Devi temple festival. On the way, the driver lost control and hit a tree. Two people in the car died and three others were injured.
The injured were admitted to KIMS Hospital in Hubballi and a case has been registered at Mundagod police station.
