MYSURU: Two people died and seven were seriously injured in separate accidents in the district on Wednesday. The injured were shifted to hospitals.
One person died and another sustained serious injuries after their car collided head-on with a KSRTC bus near Manchanahalli in KR Nagar taluk. The car was on its way towards Hassan while the bus was coming to Mysuru from Kozhikode.
The deceased was identified as the driver Sunil (34), a resident of Kanakadasa Nagar in Mysuru, who hailed from Mudigere in Chikkamagaluru district. The seriously injured Ramesh and others in the car were shifted to a private hospital. Some of the bus passengers too sustained minor injuries. The KR Nagar police visited the spot and registered a case.
In another incident, the driver of a car died while six others were seriously injured after a tanker capsized on the moving vehicle near Sindhuvallipura in Nanjangud taluk on the Mysuru-Gundlupet national highway.
The car was on it way to Himavad Gopalaswamy Hills in Gundlupet taluk when the accident occurred. The occupants of the car are residents of Mysuru and the six injured were shifted to a hospital. The Nanjangud traffic police visited the spot and registered a case.
