MYSURU: Two people died on the spot and another was injured after the Maruti Omni van they were travelling in crashed into a tree after the driver lost control near Bylapura village in Saligrama taluk on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Khalim Rehman (65) and Sheikh Abdul Khader (45), residents of Lakshmipuram in Hassan. The injured Sheikh Munir was shifted to a hospital.
The car was going from Chunchanakate towards when the accident occurred. A trench had been dug near Bylapura for laying of a pipeline near where the car hit the tree. The Saligrama police visited the spot and registered a case.
