Two dead, four injured in separate accidents in Ballari

The accident occurred when the motorcycle rider tried to cut across the highway.

BALLARI: Two people, including a pizza delivery boy, died and four were injured in separate accidents in the district. Both the deceased were riding motorcycles.

Tayappa (40), along with his wife Radha (35) and children Divya (10) and Dhruva (8), residents of Myasakeri in Hosapate, were riding on motorcycle and suddenly entered National Highway-50 near Danayakanakere in Hosapete taluk and trying to cut across the road when they were hit by a speeding SUV. Tayappa and his family were returning home when the accident occurred.

The motorcycle rider can be seen trying to cut across the highway when they were hit by the SUV.

Due to the impact, those on the motorcycle were tossed in the air and fell to the ground. The injured were immediately shifted to a trauma care centre in Ballari, but Tayappa died enroute. The SUV was on its way from Hosapete towards Kudligi. The Mariyammanahalli police have registered a case.

A pizza delivery boy died while his co-worker was seriously injured when their motorcycle brushed against the parapet wall of a bridge.

In another incident, Riyaz (25), a pizza delivery boy, died while his co-worker Kiran (24) sustained serious injuries after the motorcycle they were travelling on crashed into the parapet wall of the Narihalla bridge near Bannihatti village close to Toranagal on Sunday night.

It is suspected that they were speeding on the motorcycle when the accident occurred. The injured Kiran is undergoing treatment in a hospital and the Toranagal police have registered a case.
