GADAG: Two school students died while two others sustained serious injuries when the SUV they were driving crashed into an electricity pole near the cotton mill in Hulakoti of Gadag taluk on Friday night. The students were returning home after their school annual day function when the accident occurred.
The deceased were identified as Mohammed Mujawar (17), and Sanjeev Reddy (16). The injured are Ashish Gundur (16) and another student. They were Class 10 students at the Rajeshwari Vidyaniketan School in Hulakoti. The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport SUV was badly crushed in the accident.
It is said that the SUV was at high speed when it crashed. The bodies of the dead were shifted to the GIMS hospital for autopsy. One of the injured is also admitted at GIMS while the other was taken to a private hospital. The Gadag Rural police visited the spot and registered a case.
