CHIKKODI: Two masked men, who entered a house on the pretext of asking for drinking water, kidnapped two children in broad daylight at Swamy Plot in Athani town. They then sped away in a car.
The kidnapping victims are Swasthi Desai (4) and Vyom Desai (3), children of Vijay Desai. The children, who are studying in a kindergarten had just returned home when they were kidnapped. Only their grandmother was at home at that time.
In CCTV footage, the two men can be seen carrying away the children on their shoulder and then making their escape in a car. The parents and the Athani town police have appealed to people to inform them if they have any information about the kidnappers.
