KARWAR: Two people were burnt alive in a horrific road accident near Gerusoppa Sulemurki Cross in Honnavar taluk after their car overturned and caught fire late on Tuesday night.
The speeding car lost control, hit a tree and then rolled into a ditch, causing the occupants to be trapped and burnt beyond recognition. The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.
The Honnavar police have registered a case and launched an investigation. The police and fire brigade teams visited the spot and shifted the bodies to hospital for autopsy and identification.
