Two arrested in job scam

BENGALURU: Two people have been arrested by Vijayanagar police for duping job aspirants by promising government jobs. The two accused are Hanumanthappa from Tumakuru and Biradar from Vijayapura.

The duo was in constant contact with railway employee Govindaraju, their phone records revealed. They would target those looking for government jobs in various parts of the state and introduce them to Govindaraju. It is suspected that more people are involved in the scam.

The police had earlier arrested Govindaraju when he was finalising a deal with one Ramesh. The accused are believed to have cheated several job aspirants of lakhs of rupees. Further investigation is ongoing.
