BELAGAVI: A day after the body of a businessman was exhumed for a complaint from his daughter, the police have arrested two men hailing from Kodagu and are questioning them along with the wife of the deceased.

Two unidentified men were seen exiting the house of businessman Santosh Dundappa Padmannavar at Anjaneya Nagar in CCTV footage from October 9, the day he died. After Santosh’s daughter found some CCTV footage deleted from their house, she had lodged a complaint accusing her mother Uma and four others.

The arrested are Pavan and Shobesh Gowda, hailing from Kodagu. One of them is believed to have befriended Uma on social media.

A man and a woman are seen entering the house and some time later, two men exited the house.

On Wednesday, Santosh’s elder brother Raju Padmannavar said Uma had befriended a youth on Instagram about 5-6 months ago and expresses suspicion that the duo may have executed the suspected murder. “They administered electric shocks, gave him some injection in the arm and suffocated him to death. The pillows were found dumped outside the bedroom”, he said and demanded strict action against the culprits.
