Tumakuru: Woman riding pillion run over by KSRTC bus, dies; Man found dead on school premises

TUMAKURU: A woman, who was riding pillion on a motorcycle, was killed after a KSRTC bus rammed into the two-wheeler near Bavikatte marriage hall in the town on Monday morning. The deceased was identified as Rajeshwari (45).

The deceased hailed from Arakere village in the taluk and was running a hotel at Gubbi Gate Circle. She was heading home with her husband when the KSRTC bus, which was heading to Kalaburagi, knocked them down.

When Rajeshwari fell on the road, one of the wheels of the bus ran over her head, leading to her death on the spot. The Tumakuru traffic police visited the spot and have registered a case.

In another incident, the body of a dead man was found on the premises of the government higher primary school at Dibbur here on Monday. The deceased was identified as Ranganath (35) of Janata Colony in Dibbur.

It is said that Ranganath was heavily into drinking alcohol and had been ailing for some time. On Sunday night, he died on the school premises and his body was found on Monday morning. The Tumakuru police visited the spot and registered a case.
