TUMAKURU: District Youth Congress president Shashi Hulikunte has been arrested for behaving inappropriately with a woman police sub-inspector and using abusive language against the officer.
Shashi is accused of misbehaving with Thilak Park police sub-inspector Rathnamma in connection with the arrest of some accused persons in a case and demanding their immediate release. When the officer did not agree, Shashi allegedly misbehaved with her and spoke arrogantly. He allegedly told the SI and other constables that after three months, his party government will come to power in the state and that he would ‘take care’ of them.
Shashi is also accused of aiding four people who were arrested in a case flee from the police station. He is also an aspirant for the party ticket from Tumakuru city. He was produced before a local court and remanded to judicial custody.
