BENGALURU: A series of accidents occurred on the Hebbal flyover involving a 10-wheeler open bed truck carrying granite blocks, a garbage truck and an Ertiga car. The driver of the garbage truck, Fayaz Ahmed, died on the spot in the accident.

The multi-axle truck, carrying granite blocks, rammed into the garbage truck from behind resulting in the driver’s death. Two others were injured in the incident.

The accident occurred around 2 am on the route from the airport to Bengaluru, and three vehicles were damaged. The truck carrying stones overturned in the middle of the road, and the police cleared the vehicles. The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Hebbal traffic police station.

Car driver Sunil said that the garbage truck had broken down and was parked by the right side of the road. “The driver of the granite truck didn’t notice the broken-down truck and applied brakes suddenly when he got close. The truck lost control and collided with the garbage truck. I was coming from behind and the impact caused the stone blocks from the truck to fall on the road. The truck also hit my car on the left side, causing it to climb on to the divider and stop. A family was in my car and I quickly opened the door and got everyone out of the car.”
