BENGALURU: In days gone by, the crowing of a rooster was a signal of the breaking dawn. But with changing times, it could be an irritant for some. In Bengaluru’s JP Nagar 8th Phase, a man has filed a complaint, annoyed by the crowing of his neighbour’s rooster.

The individual, going by the name Nemo (@Nemo_2ETR) on Twitter, complained to the police along with a video of his neighbor’s house, mentioning his problem with his neighbour’s rooster crowing. On September 29 , he had tweeted, “@BlrCityPolice this house owner is running chicken n duck farm right in our neighborhood (JP nagar 8thphase next to Arya Hamsa Grande Apartment) & causing disturbance day and night due to crooning of roosters..our 2months old toddler nt able to sleep due to this..”.

On December 16, he tweeted again: “@BlrCityPolice @DCPSouthBCP @tgpuraps Sir’s the roosters continue to croon day and night in residential area still, it had stopped for a while but started few weeks ago..pls take action as the resident won’t listen to our plea to shift roosters to somewhere else…”.

“We have roosters, turkeys and duckd. Sometimes, they all start crowing in the morning. People might have their own personal issues and they blame us for keeping pets and birds. We love keeping birds and animals in our home, and we have no control over their crowing or even our dogs barking. Even police officers have different reactions to complaints received at the police station and on Twitter. The police arrived and inspected our place”, said the man who rears the roosters, hens and ducks.
