DHARWAD: A troop of over 200 monkeys have invaded Hallikeri village in Annigeri taluk, leaving the villagers petrified.
The monkeys come to the village to beat the summer heat and had invaded it last summer too. Residents complain that they are unable to step out of their houses due to the monkey menace.
The villagers said the monkeys enter houses even if there is a crack in the door or if windows are left open and rummage through the belongings. Despite complaints to the gram panchayat, nothing has been done to curb the menace, they alleged.
