MANDYA: A couple of rowdies, who were involved in the brutal murder of another rowdy, Arun Kumar, at a temple KR Pet on Monday, were intercepted by recovery agents near KR Nagar on Tuesday, but they nonchalantly declared that they were returning after committing a murder and got away.

On Monday, notorious history-sheeter Arun Kumar was hacked to death at the Shiva temple in KR Pet town in Mandya district by a rival gang over old enmity. Arun Kumar had several cases against him for murder, extortion and kidnapping and had even served jail term. Given his antecedents, he was externed from the town, but he would visit the temple every Monday.

On Tuesday, three of those involved in the murder, who were going on a Bajaj Avenger motorcycle carrying lethal arms and swords, were stopped by recovery agents near KR Nagar in Mysuru district as the EMIs for the vehicle had not been paid.

In a now viral video, one of those on the motorcycle can be heard telling the recovery agent that they were returning after “a case” in KR Pet and that the agent was free to take custody of the motorcycle. They were also carrying “tools” (lethal arms) used for the crime wrapped in a plastic bag.

The shocked recovery agent let off the trio after speaking to a person identified as Praveen.
