Treasure haunters dug a Shiva Linga for the treasure Shivamogga district.

SHIVAMOGGA: Unidentified thieves have dug up a Shiva linga carved in stone in their attempt to unearth a hidden treasure, at Netrabailugudda near Bidanur in Hosanagar taluk.

The treasure hunters have excavated the place where the Shiva linga was installed. The site is far away from any inhabited area.

Locals suspect that the treasure hunters conducted black magic before digging up the place.

The incident came to light when some people from a village went in search of missing cattle into the forest. They also found turmeric, saffron and other puja material scattered at the place.

It is suspected that the treasure hunters conducted black magic before starting to look for the hidden treasure. Such treasure hunts have been conducted at this site many times earlier too.

Locals have demanded that the police take action against treasure haunters.
