BENGALURU: The Transport Department secretary has written two letters to Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) Managing Director Satyavathi within a week, one suggesting to consider a bus driver’s complaints, and the second seeking clarification on suspending the driver.

Bus driver Tyagaraj had written to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot about the corruption and illegalities in the BMTC, along with documents, after the BMTC MD failed to take any action on his complaints. He had also marked his complaint to Transport Secretary N V Prasad and Labour Commissioner Akram Pasha.

The BMTC driver had written to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot about the alleged corruption in the organisation.

It is perhaps for the first time in the history of the organisation that such allegations were made. Following his complaint to the governor, he was placed under suspension after a notice was issued to him.

Earlier this week, the transport secretary had written to the BMTC MD to consider the driver’s complaint. Now, he has written a second letter seeking details about why the driver was suspended.
