BENGALURU: A moulvi’s son from a mosque in DJ Halli was allegedly kidnapped by some transgender people, and an attempt was made to change his gender. However, he was rescued later. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the DJ Halli police station in Bengaluru.
A maulana from a mosque in DJ Halli had filed a complaint at the station about his son going missing afer lat Friday’s prayers. Following the complaint, police started an investigation and rescued the young man from Madurai in Tamil Nadu and brought him back safely.
The young man had shaved his beard and was wearing women’s clothing. Because of the strong suspicion that a gender change had been performed, the youth is being medically examined.
Last Friday, a group of transgender people kidnapped him from Bengaluru and took him to Madurai in Tamil Nadu, where they allegedly performed surgery in an attempt to change his gender.
The DJ Halli police, after locating the young man in Tamil Nadu and bringing him back to Bengaluru, have admitted him to Ambedkar Hospital for treatment and are now trying to confirm whether an operation was performed.
The transgenders who kidnapped the young man and attempted gender conversion have escaped, and the police are looking out for them.
