HASSAN: Several trains running between Mangaluru and Yeshwantpur in Bengaluru will be suspended for extended periods due to electrification and safety work on the Salkeshpur-Subrahmanya section from June 1 to November 1, railway officials have said. The Salkeshpur-Subrahmanya section will be closed from June 1 to November 1 for electrification works.
The Yeshwantpur-Mangaluru Express (Train No. 16539), which runs every Saturday, will be suspended from May 31 to November 1. The Mangaluru-Yeshwantpur Weekly Express, (train No. 16540), which runs every Sunday, will be suspended from June 1 to November 2.
The Yeshwantpur-Mangaluru Tri-weekly Express (No. 16575), which runs every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, will not be operational from June 1 to October 30. The Mangaluru-Yeshwantpur Triweekly Express (No. 16576), which runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, will be suspended from June 2 to October 31.
The Yeshwantpur-Karwar Triweekly Express (Train No. 16515), which runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, will not be operational from June 2 to October 31. Also, the Karwar-Yeshwantpur Triweekly Express (No. 16516), which runs every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, will remain suspended from June 3 to November 1, railway officials informed.
