BENGALURU: The construction of the Kanteerava Studio underpass on the Outer Ring Road near Goraguntepalya has finally begun, bringing hope to thousands of commuters who have been facing traffic congestion for years.
The underpass, which was stalled due to land acquisition issues, is expected to ease traffic flow on Tumakuru Road and provide a convenient route for vehicles travelling from Goraguntepalya to Outer Ring Road, Sumanahalli, Rajajinagar, and Mahalakshmi Layout.
The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has resumed construction work on the underpass, which is expected to be completed soon. The project, worth Rs 44 crore, will not only reduce traffic congestion but also provide a convenient route for vehicles entering the city.
The underpass will connect Tumakuru Road to Rajajinagar, Malleswaram, Kurubarhalli and Sumanahalli, making it easier for vehicles to navigate the city. The construction of the underpass has been welcomed by commuters, who are hoping for a smoother and more efficient journey. The BDA has assured that the underpass will be completed as soon as possible, and commuters are eagerly waiting to see the project come to fruition.
“Opening of the underpass, which has been closed for nearly 10 years will definitely help motorists. We were facing a lot of problems”, said Somashekar, a motorist. “This place sees traffic jams regularly and opening of the underpass will definitely help motorists”, said Milan Gowda, another motorist.
