BENGALURU: Despite strict traffic rules in Bengaluru, vehicle users have been found to be brazenly flouting them. Of late , there has been a rise in traffic rule violations in the city, prompting the police to take strict measures.

To control traffic congestion, the police are using advanced technology, including CCTV cameras installed across the city. These cameras also help monitor and penalise traffic rule violators. The police have also seized some vehicles in rules voilations cases.

Vehicle users have now seem to have become brazen, violating rules such as riding without helmets, jumping signals, parking in no-parking zones and driving without registration plates.

The traffic police earlier conducted checks during non-peak hours and holidays and impound the vehicles of violators. But with motorists violating the rules at other times, the city traffic police have decided to conduct inspections on busy roads every day, taking such incidents seriously.

The traffic police have decided to intensify checks on all days of the week, including weekends, on congested roads to curb traffic violations.  This move is aimed at making vehicle users more mindful of the rules before hitting the roads.
