BENGALURU: The city traffic police have launched a unique awareness campaign to caution drivers about the dangers of speeding and reckless driving. Despite repeated warnings and fines, many drivers continue to flout traffic rules, putting their own lives and the lives of others at risk. To drive home the point, the police have come up with a creative initiative.
A crashed car involved in a severe accident has been parked at the busy Hebbal junction under the flyover. The car is meant to serve as a grim reminder to drivers of the potential consequences of speeding and breaking traffic rules.
As people drive past the car, they are forced to slow down and take a closer look. The police have placed warning signs around the car, cautioning drivers about the dangers of reckless driving. The signs read: “This could be you… Drive responsibly”.
The campaign aims to educate drivers about the importance of following traffic rules and driving responsibly. The police hope that the message will sink in and encourage drivers to be more mindful of their actions on the road. Citizens have welcomed the initiative, with many praising the police for their creative approach to raising awareness about road safety.
Mounashree, a citizen, commented, “It’s a great initiative. We need to be reminded of the importance of driving responsibly. Our families are waiting for us, let’s drive safely”. The police hope that the campaign will lead to a reduction in road accidents and make Bengaluru’s roads safer for everyone.
