Traffic curbs on Sunday for Chitra Santhe

BENGALURU: In view of the heavy traffic expected on Kumar Krupa Road from 6 am to 9 pm on Sunday, when the 22nd edition of Chitra Santhe will be held at the Chitrakala Parishat, the traffic police have imposed some curb. Lakhs of people are expected to attend.

The city traffic police department has released an advisory for Bengaluru road users to facilitate smooth traffic flow. There will be a restriction on vehicle movement on the main road from Shivananda Circle to Cauvery Theatre junction. All vehicles are prohibited from traveling between Windsor Manor Circle and Shivananda Circle.

Alternate routes have been designated to ensure smooth traffic flow. Commuters are advised to follow the designated routes and avoid the restricted areas.

  • Vehicles are prohibited from entering Kumara Krupa Road from Shivananda Circle.
  • Steel bridge via Sivananda Circle on the lower side to Trilight Junction and Nehru Circle towards Race Course Road on the steel flyover.
  • Vehicles going towards Kumara Krupa Road from Maurya Circle and Ananda Rao Circle should proceed to Basaveshwara Circle at Race View Junction and take a left turn through Old High Gounds Junction and Windsor Manor Junction.
  • Vehicles coming from Maurya Circle and Ananda Rao Circle are restricted from entering Kumara Krupa Road through Sivananda Junction.

Vehicles coming from Mysore Bank Circle and Anand Rao Circle towards Kumar Krupa Road should take the following route:

  • From Race View Junction, head towards Basaveshwara Circle, take a left turn, and proceed through Old High Grounds Junction and Windsor Manor Junction.
  • Vehicles coming from T Chowdaiah Road should come to Old High Grounds Junction and proceed via Race Course Road.
  • Vehicles going to Kumara Krupa Road will have to travel from Chowdaiah Road, High Grounds Junction via Windsor Manor Circle through RP Road.
  • Vehicles coming from T Chowdaiah Road and passing through Windsor Manor Circle are not allowed to enter KK Road. These vehicles should go through T Chowdaiah Road, Old High Grounds Junction, LRDE, Basaveshwara Circle, and Race Course Road.

Parking arrangements: 

  • Four-wheelers on Railway Parallel Road.
  • From Gururaja Kalyana Mantapa to Janardhana Hotel on Crescent Road.
  • Four-wheelers are allowed to park on the east side of the road from Trilight Junction to Maurya Junction on Race Course Road.
