Traffic cops’ presence of mind saves BMTC driver who suffered heart attack on moving bus

BENGALURU: Quick thinking by the traffic police saved the life of a BMTC bus driver after he suffered a minor heart attack while driving. The incident occurred near Shantinagar’s Double Road in City on Thursday.

The driver Veeresh was driving the bus (KA 51 AJ 6905) when he suddenly suffered a heart attack. Traffic police personnel, including Halasuru traffic police constable R Raghu Kumar, rushed to his aid after noticing the slow-moving bus. They found Veeresh holding his hand on his chest and leaning to one side on his seat.

The policemen applied the handbrake immediately to stop the bus, pulled Veeresh out and rushed him to a hospital with the help of Ashok Nagar traffic police’s Prasannakumar. Fortunately, Veeresh is out of danger.

By showing presence of mind, the traffic policemen saved the lives 45 passengers too. The policemen are garnering widespread praise from the public for their quick response.
