BENGALURU: With the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) reportedly not responding positively to the state’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on issuing a blue corner notice against incumbent Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is linked to the obscene videos, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday held a meeting with top police officers at his official residence to discuss the way forward.

DG&IGP Alok Mohan leaves after a meeting with the CM at the latter’s residence on Monday.

The CBI is the nodal agency in India to deal with the Interpol. A blue corner notice helps the law enforcement agencies collect additional information about a person’s identity, location or activities in relation to a criminal investigation. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is now expected to write to the Centre seeking its intervention in bringing back Prajwal Revanna to face the law.

A police team is camping at the Kempegowda International Airport since Sunday.

Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG&IGP) Alok Mohan and ADGP-Intelligence K V Sharath Chandra met the CM and briefed him about the developments following H D Revanna’s arrest and the possible return of Prajwal Revanna. The officers expressed apprehension that Prajwal may not return till May 9 and also apprised about the CBI’s lukewarm response. The meeting lasted about one-and-half hours.

Prajwal Revanna’s official residence in Hassan has been sealed.

Meanwhile, the special investigation team (SIT) officials are camping at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) since Sunday in anticipation of Prajwal Revanna’s return. The officials are also contemplating sending a team to where Prajwal Revanna is holed up and to bring him back. They are also checking the passenger manifest of all aircraft arriving at KIA.

The SIT officials have also sealed the MP’s house on RC Road in Hassan and barricaded the gates. The residence, which is right next to the SP’s office, is normally bustling with visitors, but is now deserted.
