Tiger seriously injured in territorial fight outside Bandipur forest, rescued

The tiger was wounded in its hind legs and was finding it difficult to move.

CHAMARAJANAGAR: A tiger was left severely wounded after into got into a territorial fight with another tiger in Kundukere forest range of Bandipur Tiger Reserve (BRT) in Gundlupet taluk. The injured tiger was rescued by Forest officials and shifted for treatment.

The two tigers got into a fight on agricultural land on the edge of the forest. While one of them, aged about eight years, collapsed, the other went back into the forest. Villagers, who spotted the injured tiger, immediately informed the Forest Department.

The officials, who arrived there, first tranquilised the seriously injured tiger and shifted it to a Mysuru zoo where it will be treated by veterinarians before being release back into the wild.
