MYSURU: In one of those rare instances, a tiger was caught on a visitor’s camera, hunting a fawn (young one of a deer) at water body in the Nagarahole national park in H D Kote taluk.
In the undated video, the tiger is seen walking near a water body even as a fawn, which had just drank water from the pond, can be resting in the shade of a tree.
The tiger suddenly pounces on the fawn even as the young one makes a dash for its life, and catches it by the neck. The tiger then hauls back the fawn to the edge of the water, looking to feast on its prey.
It then gets into the water and swims towards some rocks in the middle of the pond with the fawn in its jaws and sits in the water amidst the blistering afternoon heat.
