SHIVAMOGGA: A three-year-old boy died after he was run over by a tipper while crossing a road at Kerekoppa village in Soraba taluk on Tuesday. The deceased is Mohammed Ahil Khan, son of Ataullah Khan and Fareena Begum.
Ahil was at the anganwadi centre in the village when he saw his grandmother Naseema Banu pass by. The toddler rushed to greet the grandmother and was run over by a tipper while crossing the road.
In her complaint to the Soraba police, Naseema Banu blamed the tipper driver for speeding and negligent driving. The boy’s father works in Dubai, the family members said.
Residents of the village said the road near the anganwadi is being widened and demanded that it be shifted elsewhere.
