BENGALURU: The Bharatinagar police have arrested three more accused in connection with the murder of history-sheeter Biklu Shiva.The arrested individuals have been identified as Anil, Arun and Naveen.
Arun and Naveen are associates of Jagadish, the prime accused (A1) in the case, and were absconding after the murder. The police are currently interrogating the trio.
Biklu Shiva, a real estate businessman, was hacked to death by assailants who arrived in a car on the night of July 15 near his house in Halasuru. The police had previously arrested Kiran, Vimal, Pradeep, Madan and Samuel, who are accused in the case.
On Saturday, MLA Byrati Basavaraj, who is the fifth accused (A5) in the case, was questioned by the police.
The investigation has revealed that Anil provided the car to the killers. The culprits arrived in a Scorpio car on the day of the murder and escaped after committing the crime. It is not yet known if Anil knowingly gave the car to the murderers. Anil absconded after the murder.
The police, led by Byappanahalli Inspector, raided accused Jagga a.k.a Jagadish’s house and office. They found a licence document for a pistol, but suspected that he escaped with the pistol.
Joint Police Commissioner Ramesh Banoth stated that five people were arrested after the murder, and two more accused, Naveen and Arun, were arrested later.
The investigation revealed that Patrick had instructed Kiran to bring reliable individuals, specifically Tamil boys, to carry out the murder. He had been told not to bring Kannada and local boys.
During interrogation, Arun and Naveen revealed that they had killed the victim based on Patrick’s instructions. The accused claimed they had no personal grudge against the victim and were merely following Patrick’s orders. The police are now searching for several others involved in the murder, including Jagadish, who is still absconding.
