TUMAKURU: A three-month-old child was found abandoned by the roadside at Hedagarahalli village in Tiptur taluk on Sunday night. The infant was rescued and shifted to the government hospital in Tiptur.
ASHA worker Kalavathi was on a stroll after dinner when she heard the cries of the baby. When she checked where the cries were coming from, she found the abandoned baby.
Kalavathi immediately informed the Nonavinakere police who arrived on the scene and shifted the baby to hospital. The police are now on the lookout for the child’s parents.
