BENGALURU: Seven people, including three minors, died in accidents in different parts of the state.
In Mysuru, a 10-year-old riding on a bicycle along with a pillion rider, died after the bicycle went under the rear wheel of a Tempo Traveller. The incident occurred on Friday evening at Abhishek Circle in V V Puram traffic police limits.
In CCTV footage, Balaji, son of Ramanna of Yelandur, and another boy are seen hurtling down on their bicycle and crashing into a Tempo Traveller at an intersection. The bicycle goes under the rear tyre, killing Balaji, while the other boy miraculously survived with minor injuries.
Two minors from Chinnikodipalli in Roddam taluk of Andhra Pradesh died after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a pickup truck at Kadamalakunte village in Pavagada taluk on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Eshwar (14) and Yeshwanth (15). Another youth, Ramu, who was also riding on the motorcycle, sustained grievous injuries and ws shifted to hospital for treatment.
A mother-son duo died on the spot while another person sustained serious injuries after their car collided head-on with a KSRTC bus near Mudremane in Mudigere taluk.
The deceased were identified as Pooja Hiremath and her son Rajashekar Hiremath. Shivayagaiah Hiremath, who sustained serious injuries, was shifted to a hospital.
The mother-son duo were residents of Konanakunte in Bengaluru and the occupants of the car were returning from Dharmastala when the accident occurred. The Mudigere police have registered a case.
Two people died while a woman was seriously injured after a truck rammed into their car on National Highway-48 near Thimmapur village in Shiggaon taluk of Haveri district.
The deceased are Manohar B (38) and Varsha (23) while the Monalisa (38) was shifted to KIMS in Hubballi. The deceased hail from Bengaluru and were heading towards Mumbai when the accident occurred.
