Three lives lost in bull-taming competition in Haveri

HAVERI: Three people have lost their lives in a bull-taming competition organised as part of Deepavali celebrations in the district. The deceased have been identified as Chandrashekar Kodihalli (70), Ganisab Bankapur (70) and Bharat (22). More than five people have also been injured in the incident.

Chandrashekar, a senior citizen, participated in the competition held in front of the Veerabhadreshwara temple and was gored by a bull while heading home. In the second incident, a bull entered a house and gored Ganisab Bankapur, an elderly man, to death at Devihosuru village. In the third incident, a young man, Bharat, who went to watch the bull festival in Tilavalli village, was killed by the bull.

The injured have been treated at KIMS hospital in Hubballi and Haveri district hospital.
