MANGALURU: Three accused have been arrested by Mangaluru police in connection with the Kotekar Vyavasaaya Seva Sahakaari Bank armed robbery case.
The accused, identified as Murugandi Devar, Prakash a.k.a. Joswa, and Manivannan, are from Tamil Nadu. They were arrested near Madurai in Tamil Nadu.
According to Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal, the accused were part of a Mumbai-based gang and had come to Mangaluru specifically to commit the robbery. The police have seized a Fiat Linea car and two bags from the accused. The car that was used in the robbery was found near Tirunelveli and was found to have been brought from Maharashtra.
The police suspect that locals may have been involved in the robbery, as it would have been difficult for the accused to carry out the crime without local support. The police will investigate further and take necessary action, the commissioner said.
