Three elephants were spotted in the Bhadra dam backwaters.

CHIKKAMAGALUR: Residents of NR Pura have expressed concern after three elephants were spotted in the backwaters of the Bhadra dam 4 km away from the town. If the animals, cross the backwaters, they may enter the town, the locals apprehend.

The elephants were spotted frolicking in the backwaters on Monday. This comes close on the heels of the death of a farmer in an elephant attack. Following the spotting of the three elephants, the locals have informed the police and the Forest Department.

Meanwhile, the authorities have advised people to be cautious while stepping out or while visiting their fields or farms.
