BENGALURU: Holi celebration turned violent as three men were killed in a clash over inappropriate comments passed against a woman, in Sarjapur on Saturday night. The deceased were identified as Deepu (18), Radheshyam (20) and Anshu (20), all from Bihar’s Gopalganj district.
They worked as plumbers in Bengaluru and were residing in an apartment in Doddakannelli. Sonu, Sudhir, Satish and Birbal lived in the same room. Satish and the injured Birbal are in police custody while the accused, Sonu and Sudhir are absconding.
The three youths, Deepu, Anshu and Radheshyam had got together for a liquor party at night during Holi celebration. At this time, Anshu called Sonu’s sister and spoke in an inappropriate way. A clash broke out between Sonu and Anshu over the phone. The situation escalated, and Radheshyam and Deepu came to Anshu’s aid when Sonu and Sudhir attacked them with an iron rod. Birbal and Satish managed to escape with injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
A four-team has been formed under the leadership of Bengaluru Rural SP CK Baba. Police are searching for all the railway stations in Majestic and Tamil Nadu for the absconding accused. It is suspected that the accused may have fled to Gujarat by train.
